This was added in changeset 85393e522337 last October. Apparently it's
used for Emacs for on the fly syntax checking.
The flymake.am contents seems to have come straight from the emacs wiki
page at http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/FlyMake. Perhaps it can be cleaned
up so it doesn't spew these warnings.
