(I'm a vi(m) user, yet I have not rebound the meta-<letter> combinations: in fact, I have defined several additional ones.) My point is that if a compile-time option makes any _default_ keybindings inaccessible, then turning on the option should at least rewrite the affected bindings in functions.h so the help system doesn't keep insisting to the user that they are present.
