For MacOS, it is the same as Linux. I switched over to MacOS about
4 years ago after using Linux exclusively for 20 years. All you'd need
to do for any version of MacOS (Snow Leopard and newer) is to either
enable gcc from within Xcode, or install the port of gcc to MacOS from
MacPorts, open up a shell from either the Terminal app or if you install
it, X11/XQuartz, then go through the same process for any Unix OS:
./configure ; make ; make install. Just be sure to season your options
to taste.

I wish I knew more about Mac OS, but I have only used Linux. Hopefully

manager via Git
