No, the workaround I mentioned requires a correct value to be placed in
$smime_self_encrypt_as, which would be different for each person.
1.9.2 is a stable release, so distros that include the 1.9.x series should
upgrade or include that patch. The bug doesn't affect users prior to
1.9.0.
