But now you lost me. I truly think my messages cannot be misunderstood except by consciously mutilating quotes at the wrong place. I understand the desire to use 8-bit encoding, there was just recently someone on some GnuPG list who wanted the same; in the real IETF world this then means you need MBOXO quoting (or do not care at all). -rw-r----- 1 steffen steffen 38 Aug 28 22:03 /tmp/xy -rw-r----- 1 steffen steffen 52 Aug 28 22:03 /tmp/xy.utf7 -rw-r----- 1 steffen steffen 69 Aug 28 22:04 /tmp/xy.utf7imap -rw-r----- 1 steffen steffen 62 Aug 28 22:05 /tmp/xy.qp -rw-r----- 1 steffen steffen 53 Aug 28 22:05 /tmp/xy.b64 utf8 du dödel hä-hä hallöchen tschüß utf7 du d+APY-del h+AOQ--h+AOQ hall+APY-chen tsch+APwA3w utf7imap du&AAo-d&APY-del&AAo-h&AOQ--h&AOQACg-hall&APY-chen&AAo-tsch&APwA3wAK- quoted-printable du d=C3=B6del h=C3=A4-h=C3=A4 hall=C3=B6chen tsch=C3=BC=C3=9F base64 ZHUKZMO2ZGVsCmjDpC1ow6QKaGFsbMO2Y2hlbgp0c2Now7zDnwo= Quoted-printable is not the nicest one for UTF-8.
