hello,
i'm moving from exmh to mutt. i have a lot of mail in many
mh-format folders. some of these folders are nested too.
there are many things i like about mutt, but there are some
things that i miss about exmh. one of them is what's called
the "unseen window." what this does is open a little window
and lists out the folders that have unread mail. in mutt,
i discovered something similar to this (folder view?), but
it doesn't seem to be quite right. first, it always seems
to mark almost all of my folders are having new messages,
even where there really are no new messages (this might be
caused by nfs though, right?). second, whenever i go into
"folder view" from a directory (by hitting c and then typing
"?"), everything in my folder (~/Mail) is shown. i have to
hit TAB to only see the mailboxes. is there a config option
that i can set to make this automatic?
finally, i'm wondering if i should convert my mailbox format.
before mutt, i always kept the mailbox format mh (even when
looking to replace exmh) because i wanted easy command-line
access to my mail. since i can run mutt from the command-
line, this is not a major issue. does it make sense to
change? is there One True Mailbox Format? are there scripts
to convert?
i'm sure i have other questions too, but that's all i can think
of now. thanks for reading this far.
