Except of course if you sent the email with Mutt, which generates
Message-IDs itself just for this reason.

But this doesn't help with the formail case, since formail (or any
other incoming mail filter really) hasn't seen this Message-ID and
won't know that the message is a "duplicate".  Unless you run some
sort of script for adding the Message-IDs of sent mail or something
else like that.
