Well then, you need to somehow find out what's the difference in headers
between the emails that work and which don't.  Though normally,
differences in headers shouldn't affect the relaying in any way.  But
for example, I've once used a system where the mail server refused
emails with a Message-ID that didn't contain a '@' character.  It's
probably not that in this case (Mutt creates the proper kind of
Message-IDs) but it could be something similar...
