It's been around for a very long time, so any copy of the manual.txt that
you're likely to find will mention it (it's 6.3.178 in the 1.2 version).
It tells mutt to put the dash-dash-space sig separator in front of your
sig; the only reason to turn it off is if (as I do) you have something
before your signature that is nonetheless included in your sig file --
and if you do so you should be sure to put the separator in your file
when you set it up.
