You can't specify your own aliases, it has to be (beginning of)
real mailing list addresses.

So, your subscribe line should be:

  subscribe vim vim-dev psst ipchains masq mutt-users mutt-dev netfilter

You don't need to specify "vim-dev" or "netfilter-devel", because "vim"
and "netfilter" already cover those.
