[ot] .exrc control-key mapping

Hello fellow mutt-users,

I've been trying to bind ^j to `!}fmt` in vi(m) for a while now with
no sucess; anyone know how?

btw: sorry for the OT, but I figured someone on this list would know 
and I've just about exhausted my resources.
