Ok, eliminating $record works for keeping extraneous emails out of my sent mail folder, but I can't decide whether it's Gmail or Mutt still saving a copy to my Inbox. More and more I'm think that I want to get away from Gmail and work with a sensible client. Though, I know that there are a large number of individuals on this list using Mutt and Gmail together with great success. Blah!
