Hello Mutt Users,

I've just released version 2.3.1. Instructions for downloading are available at <http://www.mutt.org/download.html>, or the tarball can be directly downloaded from <http://ftp.mutt.org/pub/mutt/>. Please take the time to verify the signature file against my public key[1].

This is a bug-fix release, fixing a compilation error when configured --without-wc-funcs, and a potential bug in the folder browser.

Sorry this announcement is a bit longer, but there are a few additional things I wanted to mention. The first is that I've renewed the expiration date on my gpg key. Please refresh your keyring periodically or re-import my key from one of the sources at [1] if you get an expired key warning.

Next, we're planning on deprecating the --without-wc-funcs configuration option in 2.4.0 and removing it in 2.5.0. If you rely on this configuration option, please take the time to drop us an email on the mutt-dev mailing list.

If you compile on a bleeding edge distro, you may notice compilation warnings about modifying const strings, thanks to some improvements to glibc. We've fixed a bug in this release revealed by these warnings, but the other warnings have only been cleaned up in our master branch. They should disappear in the 2.4.0 release.

Last is a heads-up to packagers. We've added a README.PACKAGERS file that mentions potential distribution issues between OpenSSL/LibreSSL. The issue is old news, but I felt obligated to mention the README.

Thanks to everyone who sent in bug reports, patches, helped code review, and test fixes.

-Kevin
