Martin, To my knowledge all of the current issue are related to mythtv, not mvpmc. There are specific directions that need to be followed when adding remote frontends to mythtv. This is because remote frontends do not have remote access to the database, a setting in mysql. The last 2 posts were both related to access to mysql. This issue is discussed in the WIKI.
As for working reliable, I have been using it for months with no issues, but that is my setup and configuration of mythtv. So unless people post issues and debug output it can't get fixed.
