What do you mean by "transmit across"?

I believe the MVPMC project uses the original drivers to handle the low 
level remote control processing.  Then MVPMC handles the resulting 
remote codes it's self.  The only feature that transmits the remote 
control out of the box is, as far as I know, MClient.  It has been a 
long time since I tried the VNC feature of MVPMC.  Maybe it uses the 
remote control as well - I don't know.  Perhaps Iain can help with that.

F.Y.I. Hauppauge uses RC5 codes on their remotes.  There is an example 
of a remote control look up table used to translate RC5 code into 
slimdevices code in one of the MVPMC mclient*.c files.  I think it was 
the mclient_mvpmc.c file.

There has been some lirc work done by Roland.  I never had time to 
follow up on this.  I think his work is still alpha like.  Here is his
