Dan,
The TV guide uses direct SQL access and not the mythtv protocol. If you try to start New Live TV! without SQL access enabled, you should get an error message. The TV Guide is only available from New Live TV! To invoke the TV Guide use either the Go button or the Guide button on the remote. To dismiss use the TV button (to retain your current position in the guide) or the back button to forget the current position.
