I am working on something for this environment, although discussion is
on the dev. board and is a bit technical right now, but you can follow
it

http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.multimedia.mvpmc.devel/3801

I will be working on a simplified howto boot mvpmc without special
dhcp based on the testing going on. This will be for windows and
linux and for both models of the mvp.

Note I just noticed that at sourceforge the online mailing list is
hopelessly out of date (including your message) better to follow
things here:

You probably need stage 1.a getting the dongle.bin.mvpmc to configure
everything to your liking.

No it is never a dhcp server, it is always a tftp server supplying
dongle.bin (and for your case standard port 69 will be sufficient will
be sufficient). However the dhcp process can identfy the dongle name
and the tftp server address.which is quite flexible.

I use atftp.

It depends, of the servers that mvpmc can work, installing mythtv is
supposed to be challenging, (I've never done it) but the others are
all quite straightforward.

If you have trouble following the dev thread, ask questions and I'll
try and explain. It will help me understand what to put in the how
to.
