No one has answered. And I don't have any experience with the newer(??)
H3. So, take this as more background information then a solution.

There is, on the older MediaMVPs only one volume setting that I know of.
And that one is NOT linear - it's hardly what you would call
logarithmic either (well it is but...). It only has a hand full of
useful values. That is, you can assign it 256 different values. But
the only ones that make a difference are about 255 to 225. Below that
and I can not hear much but silence.

I tried using math to convert the SlimServer's volume values to MediaMVP
values but that didn't work well. I resorted to an array of 41 hand
picked values which includes some repeated values (don't tell anyone).
Note, everything in this paragraph only applies to MClient. A special
case among MVPMC's application as the server controls the volume.

So, try MClient. That should give you fairly even volume control for
it's full range. If it doesn't, post again w/your findings for the
newer H3 hardware.

Meanwhile, we can start discussions w.r.t. the volume control for the
rest of MVPCM. That is, if we should taper it to appear to control the
full range of MVPMC's volume in, say, 40 steps.
