This is another discussion that developed out of a previous thread. I
made some digital recordings of standard definition TV using a pcHDTV
HD-5500. They play fine on my PC and the standard Myth frontend.
When I play them on the mvpmc, however, there is no audio. When I
bring up the audio stream menu, its empty. Here is the output of
mvpmc from a telnet window:
switch_hw_state(): changing from 1 to 2

Stuart, regarding your post below, I believe the stream is in fact
MPEG2, not MPEG4, so it should be okay. The TV that I have the MVP
hooked up to is just a secondary TV in the bedroom with internal
stereo speakers. So I wouldn't really care if it was just plain
stereo, as long as I can hear it. Is there a way that I can have
MythTV automatically transcode the digital recordings to have both an
AC3 audio stream and a stereo audio stream? That might be an
acceptable workaround. But I'd be interested in knowing whether mvpmc
might support this in the future without a workaround.
There's also some weird things happening with aspect ratio. Its a 4:3
TV, and wide screen programming is running off the screen to the
right. I'll have to see if adding the aspect ratio command line
parameter fixes that.
