It is really simple, but is not the best for playling local dynamic
content since the interface to a local or remote web server is just an
m3u playlist which is a flat file that gets cumbersome with a lot of
entries.

There is a sample default.m3u on the mvpmc and the m3u layout is
described on my page
http://www.mvpmc.org/~mvallevand/mvpmc-HOWTO-stream.html#s2 Te line
items are just URLs and while most of the examples are streams they
could be audion files too, if you have a local server running Apache
or even Icecast or Shoutcast. The important thing is for the web
server is to identify the mime-type as the ContentType in the http
header.

Are you trying to use this for local content or internet audio? If it
is local content, you'd probably want to enhance the code, something
like I did for Shoutcast stations lists and Podcasts, and create m3us
from a dynamic content html file on the fly.
