Everything shows up on the TV screen. The external char display was for headless situations. And, as the original slimdevices.com units use a 40x2 char display, it wasn't difficult to implement on a similar IEE VFDisplay for the mvpmc project. The 16x1 IEE VFDisplay was a bit tricky. I haven't touched it for a while, but there is also support for the display here and there in the mvpmc code. Mainly for the ReplayTV feature. But it all could use a re-visit. It shouldn't be much work beyond deciding what should be displayed and when. The code in mvpmc also opens up a port where you can send the display anything you wish. So, if somewhere in the house you have a computer monitoring Caller-ID, the Stock Market or the Weather you could open a session between the two devices and display what ever you wanted on the mvpmc display. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
