Speaking of the power functionality, I've noticed that if you hit the 
power button at just the wrong moment (such as before mvpmc has fully 
started up) the button will fail to work. The power LED still responds 
as it should - flickers while receiving the IR command, and then 
extinguishes - but mvpmc never goes into its "power down" state.

Hitting the power button again turns the power LED back on, and 
repeating does the same as above.
