Given your regular MythTV front-ends are working, it does sound like a 
mvpmc specific issue, but I think it would be worth posting a question 
to the MythTV users list.

I assume you're aware that mvpmc can only play MPEG2 video, so if your 
tuners changed or the way the video is encoded changed, that could 
prevent live TV playback. However, that wouldn't produce the "no tuners" 
message. This sounds more like a protocol mismatch.

Also, it doesn't appear that you mentioned which version of mvpmc you're 
using. The nightly builds contain a few fixes needed for 0.21 compatibility.

Yes, it works for me.

Check the mvpmc-users list archives. There has been discussion of issues 
with 0.21. For example:
