This seems like a reasonable theory. It would have to be a memory leak 
that continues to grow while "powered down" (in standby).

The other thing that comes to mind, especially with the day-long delay 
being one of the conditions, is a DHCP lease expiring. Perhaps your DHCP 
server is handing out different lease times for your wireless devices 
than wired. Try seeing what your lease time is configured for, and if 
it's a day, boost it to 4 or 5 days and see if that does it.

Check the list archives as a similar problem with an expiring lease came 
up a few months back.

If that fails, and you can't even ping the MVP, then that'll put further 
suspicion on a lease expiring.

If you're running a real DHCP server, inspecting the logs may also be 
helpful.
