Sorry if this posts twice. I sent it the first time before I was actually registered to the list.
I have scoured numerous postings and tried various reconfigs. But I'm getting no joy in setting up my rebranded Helius mediamvp. The myth backend is a MythBuntu 8.04 running a version 0.21 SVN myth backend. The backend works fine with two different desktop frontends. The mediaMVP boots, and has NFS access to the filesystem of the backend. Playing video through the filesystem works fine. The date/time is syncronized via the backend (using NTP) and the hostname for both the media MVP and backend are written to the /etc/hosts file. Database connection to the backend MySQL database checks out. On live TV the dreaded "...unusually long time to initiate..." message pops up and stays up. The following log messages are recorded. ============================ mediaMVP log ============================= switch_gui_state(): changing from 1 to 2 show busy widget mythtv control thread sleeping...(pid 178) myth watchdog thread started (pid 179) event thread started (pid 180) Starting new livetv switch_hw_state(): changing from 1 to 2 Starting New Live TV! unknown mythtv BACKEND_MESSAGE 'QUERY_NEXT_LIVETV_DIR 2' MythTV unknown event (error?) I have purchased 3 MediaMVPs and this problem is the only thing keeping me from ditching my Motorola 6412 DVR. Any suggestions welcome.
