Stuart, thank you for replying. I had read that page but when I set it up it
would only actively transcode ".avi" files -- it would not transcode my
".mpg" files. As an experiment, I renamed the ".mpg" files to end with
".avi" and it is now transcoding those files and the audio sync is fine. The
problem I am now facing is that I am seeing a bit of video "jerkiness".
About every 5-10 seconds there will be a brief pause/freeze in the video,
then it will resume playing again. This pause / freeze lasts a fraction of a
second and does not create any audio problems, but it is very noticeable.
I've tried setting the quality levels at VCD, SVCD and DVD. VCD and DVD both
exhibit the same problem; SVCD doesn't appear to work at all. Some
additional info:
1. The video plays smoothly on ".mpg" files that were recorded by a
Hauppuage PVR-250.
2. This problem only occur with the clear-QAM recordings created from the
Comcast digital source and that are transcoded via the on-the-fly VLC
transcode interface.
3. The clear-QAM recordings play smoothly on the native mythtv player, so
the source is good.
4. The clear-QAM recording resolution is 704x480; bitrate=1.5mbps,
fps=29.97, audio codec=a52
5. I've tried 2 dongle versions: Release 0.3.4 and daily build from
12/25/08.
Thanks in advanced for any guidance or help you can provide -- it is greatly
appreciated!
Marc
