Hi Eric... No, I was thinking of the 1212 replacing the MediaMVP. But looking at the box I see there is no network connection - surprise! So, apparently, this was just meant to digitize and play back video using a host computer -or- an external USB HDD. But I'm not sure - the question of which was asked in one thread I following but never answered. In the end I think the best description would be: it's the Happauge component video capture card in a box with a USB port. I know I've short changed it - but that sums it up for me. The only people (travelling in "our circles") who would really be interested are those wanting to grab HDTV from their cable box.
