Hi Eric...

No, I was thinking of the 1212 replacing the MediaMVP.  But looking at 
the box I see there is no network connection - surprise!  So, 
apparently, this was just meant to digitize and play back video using a 
host computer -or- an external USB HDD.  But I'm not sure - the question 
of which was asked in one thread I following but never answered.

...included are close ups of the chips if you really want to dig that far.

In the end I think the best description would be: it's the Happauge 
component video capture card in a box with a USB port.  I know I've 
short changed it - but that sums it up for me.  The only people 
(travelling in "our circles") who would really be interested are those 
wanting to grab HDTV from their cable box.

So, we sit here - waiting for a Happauge HD followup to the mediamvp.
