Scott, I dont believe new features are being developed for the mvpmc (at least not by me). The cmyth is just the library that other people are using. There is not auto sync of updates from one to the other.
I have a livetv dongle available located here http://www.mvpmc.org/~mdrons.. Give it a try and let me know if it works. There are some discussions on the topic if you have issues. If you have a feature and/or bug I can attempt to fix/add it, but make no promise on how long it might take me. My mvpmcs have been retired, since 99% of my recordings are HD now, which have forced me into new frontends. These comments are just my opinion, the official statement should come from Jon.
