Can some give me an idea of the difference between, for example, setting a task's goal as "week" and just setting the due date to be the Friday? When I set the goal, the task floats to the top of my ToDo list. I don't know why it does that and I'm not sure I like that actually.
The todo list view is configurable. You probably have MLO's sorting on, which combines a bunch of different attributes - but you can sort by other fields, or group by different fields.
Personally, I don't like putting due dates on things unless they are actually time-sensitive. If something is a goal for my week, but other things come up, I like that it is still a weekly goal for next week, which doesn't work with due dates. I use due-dates for things that need to be either done or renegotiated by a certain date.
I also prefer goals for grouping instead of sorting - a separate view of goals. However, now I have pretty much switched to flags and that is the view I use most of the time. I group by Flag, and sort by due-date or other criteria.
