Hi, Jo. Sorry for the delayed response. I may have been the author of the instructions you found, and I'd like to offer suggestions to you, but I don't think I understand what you are trying to do.
You say that you want to use "complete tasks in order" but you also say that your tasks have different recurrence schedules. I don't understand that. If I have three tasks that are being completed in order, where the first one happens every Monday and the third one happens every Wednesday, the second one is going to be happening weekly as well, maybe every Tuesday but no earlier than Monday and no later than Wednesday. It cannot be happening on some other interval like daily or monthly. Please give some more explanation of what you are trying to do. Regarding the idea of keeping completed tasks, I do not think you can make that happen in the world of recurring tasks and their subtasks. You might find that "Alternate Complete" helps (see the User Guide) but it will also have problems trying to manage tasks that have different recurrence schedules. Or you can use the template idea I wrote up for a different thread a little while ago.
