YES! Exactly the same that I tried -- my port is definately set to 465 and it must be open otherwise this email program I use now could not send files. The dialog box hangs forever and the only remedy is to close the entire process of MLO.exe.
I think we will need some input from the developer(s) here? I will gladly provide any info needed or assist in gathering more (such as a debug log). But I'd really like some feedback on the issue altogether since this is a feature of the program.

Brienne

My email is on gmail.com, I've tried to use 587 and 465 port for smtp server, my account password an generated application password - no result, MLO for Windows is hanging out when I attempt to sent test message.

MLO just crashed on my three times when I tried to send a test mail - I
am certain the server settings are correct though, since I took them
directly from my mail program.
Is there some kind of a debug log I could retrieve and send it to help
with the issue?

And many thanks again LISA for the quick help on the backup retrieval. I
almost had a heart attack when I thought I had lost the formatting LOL -
I've put a lot of work into that and will back it up from now on.
