Hi, Yegor. I don't know exactly how MLO ius coded but from what I can see 
as a user, MLO plays no part in determining the current location. I believe 
that MLO just asks the Android OS for the current location. I believe that 
Android makes use of GPS as well as triangulation off of nearby cell 
towers. I think therer may also be something sensing changes in intertia 
and magnetic field. This would mean that if you walk north 10 yards Android 
will know even if there are no cell towers or wifi hotspots in view.

You can tell what Android's current location is by loading Google Maps and 
clicking on the icon in the upper right corner.
