You have to set up the RTE box to recognise new lines as new entries, I 
think.

You can set what proportion of the text gets pushed into the note. Go into 
Tools - Options, and in the popup window select General Application Options 
- Rapid Task Entry dialog. I've got mine set to push text beyond 100 
characters into the note, but I'm thinking of reducing this limit further.
