I do agree with you.

However I think that it is nice that there is a possibility to add HTML 
code but not as the default format method.
There are mark up languages as Latex that can't do without but it is i.m.o. 
not a nice way to format text. 
Much much easier to use *B*,*I*,*U* A, *Link*  numbering, left-right-center 
aligning icons

I think you're right about switching between Edit View to Preview

Yes, in html you can switch textsize and color but in the MLO markup 
language you can switch textsize as well

I do agree as well with you argument how to copy text with markup language.
You can copy the text but you have to switch to Preview Task Properties.

I'm testing v5 but after a few hours I've stopped using Markup.
Just don't like it. Did not like it in whatever software that had it. 
(but it is better than nothing: maybe the MLO developers need to rewrite 
their entire code to adapt styling like the one in google groups)
