Hello Vicki,

In Windows: Press Alt-F1 to show the Views and Filters pane on the left. Make sure you're looking at the list of views, with the filter details collapsed to the bottom of the pane. Just to the right of the "Views" title, there's a settings gear icon. If you click on that, you'll see the option to import views (ie .mfv files).

How do I import the filter? The Import... menu option does not include .mfv files.

Thanks!

Thanks, I missed that last line. OK, you want a view where the general filters are

Show Actions: All
Show Hierarchy: No
Show Completed: No

and the advanced filter is

((DueDateTime in the next 7 days) OR ((DueDateTime exists) AND (StartDateTime on or before Today+ 7))

Try importing the attached. I grouped by start date, but you can easily change to a different sort or group.

Yes, that is correct.  The purpose of the list is to specify which tasks should be worked on.  Completed tasks, by definition, would be excluded from the list.

Hello Dwight.
Reasonability Test B doesn't agree with James' fourth line of criteria (the unnumbered one, which says "Those with no due date would be excluded from the list as would all completed tasks". So, if completed, a task won't show up in the list, whatever start and due dates are assigned.

James, Is that right?

James, just doing a little reasonability testing of your requirement statement. The rules as you state them would result in:

A. A task with no start date and no due date will never appear in this view.

B. A task with a due date in the next 7 days will appear in the view even if the task has already been marked complete.

If you agree with both of these, the view is easily built. If you disagree, just state specifically how you would rather see it work.

Also, how would you like to see the view sorted? Maybe ascending due date?
