You could have a single file shared by the two of you, with top level branches called "his" "hers" and "ours" - you could modify your to do list to show only tasks from "his" and "ours" and exclude "hers". She could do the same thing.

Pro: simple, clean and easy.
Con: requires that the two of you have no secrets from each other that would be reflected in your tasks, and that you totally trust each other not to spy or meddle. There are people like that, Not many.

You could have three separate files. You would have "his" and "ours" on your devices.

Con: you have to close one file and open another to see all your tasks. On desktop, you could run two copies of MLO side-by-side, one showing each file, I dont think mobile can do that
Pro: less temptation to spy/meddle with your partner's tasks
Con: if you are determined to break into your partner's tasks, it's not too hard.

She could have a file with "hers" and "ours" branches and do a branch synch of just the "ours" branch. You could synch the "Ours" branch to your device.

Con: I cannot give you much advice about branch synch, having never used it. I don't know if you can synch your entire file as well as synching a shared branch. If not, does that mean that you cannot access your tasks from both desktop and mobile? Can the shared branch be a part of his file on one device and her file on the other device, or will it end up requiring its own file on one of the devices? This is probably all very simple but you need someone who has tried it to tell you about it.

I'm using MLO on my android phone, on my laptop and on my desktop pc, everythin is synced via cloud. My girlfriend has an iPhone.
Is there a way to use the MLO app on her phone with my account and sync just one context (groceries) and have her own tasks, that are not synced?
