Hi,
I have MLO running on home and work laptops with MLO cloud sync.

Yesterday I fired up my work laptop for the first time in maybe a year
(pandemic). I was expecting all of the old tasks on it to be removed and it
to be brought up to date with my home laptop. What actually happened was
that new tasks were all created, but lots of old tasks which had since been
completed or deleted from my home machine was once again recreated.

Does anyone know why this occurs? I had presumed that the UID of the
completed/deleted tasks would have been kept in the sync profile to ensure
that even if archiving is occurring, they would never be re-created when an
old machine re-syncs.

Once I got home I tried to fix this by configuring my "up-to-date" MLO to
sync local->remote only, hoping it might overwrite the old tasks - but this
didn't work. As soon as I set the sync back to bidir the old tasks came
flooding in. I do have a backup which is as yet untouched, but that'll mean
creating a new sync file in cloud and modifying mobiles and work laptops to
use that.

Can anyone explain why this occurs and how I can avoid it in future as it's
happened numerous times over the years.

J
