Hi all, I would much appreciate if some one tried to solve my problem of no sound in linux in my (dumb user's) system. I am also a linux enthusiast, appreciate the open source movement, but I find that whenever a difficult problem is posted most of the community gives only dumb suggestions like unmuting the volume controls etc in my case (very honourable exceptions apart-who really tried to help me). -Srinivas Murthy
