Hi, I had the following problem and found the solution, which may perhaps help others. Problem: Could not connect to the net from Ubuntu sometimes (found out that this was only after rebooting from windows). Solution: Shut down the system, switch off power, then boot directly into linux. Found the solution in TUX magazine (tuxmagazine.com). -Srinivas Murthy G R
