Anto, Here is how you can participate in the mailing lists of MyLUG. They have been fairly active in and around Mysore depending on the student enthusiasm from colleges in and around Mysore. Now that the members of MyLUG are scattered all over the world, the frequency is kind of subdued. When I was in college, they used to be fairly active and held meetings around weekends.
However, even now when a bunch of Linux aficionados show some enthusiasm in Mysore the Mylug can definitely meet after arriving at a consensus on mailing lists on the location of meeting. We do not have an IRC channel. But should some people get interested, there is nothing stopping them from going to irc.freenode.net and starting a #mylug channel there.
