That does make more sense.

Another idea would be to allow the user to position an "anchor" - initiate
anchor-positioning command and the viewport is overlayed by a crosshair,
stretching vertically/horizontally to the bounds, with the intersection of
the lines being the cursor position - and upon clicking, the lines disappear
and this becomes the anchor for the document (in the document itself, not
just screen-space). Mirroring could occur over that point, maybe even
rotation and document view reset (F12 by default, I think) would center on
that point.

Ideally with an anchor there would be a section in the settings with
tickboxes for what all it would affect - mirror horizontal, mirror vertical,
rotation, zoom and document reset all optional.

Of course, even if it were just a mirror-anchor it would be awesome. In the
case of an invisible anchor there would just need to be a "clear anchor"
command as well, I guess, to return the default setup.
