Thank you for your report.
This problem is because your version of pygtk is a older than we support (see
https://gna.org/bugs/index.php?15497).
For MyPaint to work you must update your pygtk version. Since *Ubuntu 9.04 is
longer receiving security and bugfix updates, I highly suggest you do this by
updating to a newer distribution.
