Follow-up Comment #2, bug #18302 (project mypaint):
Not sure why, but that commit causes the layer highlight to no longer appear
when using the oxygen-gtk
(https://projects.kde.org/projects/playground/artwork/oxygen-gtk) theme. That
makes MyPaint very difficult to use for KDE people. Similar highlighting in
other apps (Inkscape and Gimp, etc.) works with the theme.
The change works fine under other themes I tested, including QtCurve.
