Follow-up Comment #5:
I consider this to be a Unity bug which now has /two/ workarounds within
MyPaint (popup menu, and the more visible menu button on the toolbar now, as
of 213c6be in git master). Closing as WONTFIX therefore, and hopefully the
Ubuntu guys will make keys rebindable once again for apps that ask for
rebindability.
