Follow-up Comment #1:
gtk_widget_get_mapped() is "since 2.20" supposedly, so it should have been
supported in Lucid's pygtk. Sigh.
I guess we can lose the assertion fairly safely though, and I'll push a fix
for it at some point. If you need a quick fix, try pressing Alt+F2, enter
gksu gedit /usr/share/mypaint/gui/dropdownpanel.py
and then delete the "assert button.get_mapped()" line and save. That should
work on a stock Lucid, I think.
(BTW, when Lucid is no longer the current LTS release, I won't be supporting
it with the PPA builds if that's what you're using to track mypaint☺
Hopefully there should be an oldLTS → newLTS upgrade available for people
using really old Ubuntu versions.)
