Not sure what to make of that without a better picture of your installation.
Do you regularly swap between git and old stable versions? If you do, you
should be sure to clean out old libs between installations: try the recipe in
bug #19920 (which boils down to "run install --clean" and for some git
versions while the libs transition was happening, an perhaps anything with
such a wide range of installs, "verify that it actually did remove its .so
files".
These days, ldconfig may be needed after installation.
