Looking at the bug title, this looks like an ongoing thing; I've set it back
to Confirmed so we don't accidentally close it or mark it fixed before we've
addressed the underlying problems.
Martin: would a combination of good tested heuristics like the ones we have
right now, plus user overrides for the (hopefully rare) occasions when the
whitelist and blacklist get it wrong strike the right balance? I want it to
Just Work out of the box too, and it should for common devices; but given that
we're always at the mercy of gtk libs, xorg drivers, and distributors'
wacom_drv udev/xorg.conf.d whims, we could do with a simple way of overriding
the heuristics some of the time.
