Follow-up Comment #2, bug #20712 (project mypaint):

No spurious x=0,y=0 events, as far as I can tell. However, I have noticed
another thing. That is, if the pen is *not* in proximity of the pad, I don't
have any flickering, but what happens instead is that a size which appears to
be associated with the pad itsself is shown. Meaning that when I change the
size with the stylus out of proximity, the stylus' size remains unchanged,
when I bring it back.
I *do* get Motion notify events in the "debug" console there, though, when I
use the ring.
