Follow-up Comment #2, bug #21313 (project mypaint): Hello, I've tried 3.8.6 (as it's the most stable for me) and this almost doesn't happen at all). I had it twice in an hour or so - I was using the eraser and then changed some settings (opacity, IIRC) in the brush editor and the eraser randomly changed to a blur brush that I'd used three tools prior on the pen tip, rather than the eraser tip.
It did let me change it to the eraser again. Again, this is a bit random still and I don't seem to reliably make it happen, sorry. :/ Thanks for the link, though! When I googled Mypaint I got http://mypaint.intilinux.com/?page_id=6 where the version is much older and doesn't have a lot of tools!
