I like it a lot myself and would never remove it. The plan is to add a "show visual border" option. Even if you don't enable it all the time, it will save you the "open with GIMP, crop, save" steps. (Something I have done quite a few times by now) > Jimmac (well known for its icons), posted about artrage on wine, I added > some comments about mypaint, he likes this feature too :) > http://jimmac.musichall.cz/log/?p=415 It's good to know that not everyone else dislikes it, though. > I want to add, I like the special palette too, these features and the > brush unlimited customisation abilities are my 3 most favorite features > of MyPaint. But he does make good points. I think he is not criticizing the palette but the fact that it is overcrowded, and with experimental stuff too. There should be some way to hide brushes, for example a brush could have subbrushes that are usually hidden. Same for the brush settings. But none of this will be my next priority. > I opened a directory with some quick sketchs done with mypaint for > showing some possibilities of this software: > http://popolon.free.fr/mypaint/ > Some are on my blog too, and are then redunduncies > > This is another drawing made with MyPaint after an illustration: > http://popolon.org/gblog2/loutre Nice one! I especially like the subtle color tones. Just to give some update, I put most of my (currently very limited) spare time into other projects. But I have recently studied the Gogh sourcecode a bit closer and got really excited how painlessly ellegant Aleksey has implemented the layer compositing. This makes me want to try something similar for MyPaint. (Btw. his homepage seems down at the moment.) And as soon as I get alpha channels working I will also take complaints about the missing eraser more serious ;-) bye, Martin _______________________________________________ Mypaint-discuss mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/mypaint-discuss
